Ski (5) Wisconsin – Granite Peak

Midwest ski is perfect for beginners and little kids. After bunny slopes, you can visit all these short courses to boost up your mileages and experiences, and there are almost no lines!

Grantie Peak opens till late in the season and is bigger compared to other midwest ski resorts such as seven oaks, sundown and the ones near Minneapolis. I met a couple of old people above 80s when I was there, as people above 79 are free. Wow, that’s inspiring. You know, the prices in midwest ski nowadays are competing with the big mountains. Grantie Peak is $79 for adults below 79 and $50 for kids below 13. There is no ski town here but have some hotels and restaurants around. We booked one with Jacuzzi 🙂 The ski lifts are 5 minutes walking from the parking lot.

The slopes here are mild and short. Because it’s easy and relaxed, it is inspiring us to want to ski more actually. After visiting Grantie Peak, we all decided to buy our own gears so we can go around to ski more often and more freely.

In the second day when we were there, there was a big storm and constantly snowed the entire day. Running on the slope when the world seems ending feels super brave and awesome.

You know ski often gives you an impression of hauling a lot of heavy equipments, waiting in long lines, traveling long trips, wearing clumsy clothes, cold, windy and expensive, and eating so so food. So it is cool to feel easy and relaxed while having fun of ski. For this reason, I will still go back to midwest ski until I am completely bored and ready for Epic/Ikon passes to ski all around the world 🙂
